Guatemala | January 24- February 2, 2026
Our 2026 SMLCA Mission Team arrived in Guatemala on Saturday night and had a cultural day around San Juan, La Laguna at Lake Atitlan on Sunday. For the next four days, we served with Mr. Mack's students from Inter-American School in Xela, Guatemala. Our ministries included serving at Abuelitos (elderly ministry), Happy Tummies (children's ministry), sewing ministry for women in the community looking for a skill set to offer their family income, sports ministry at local schools, home visits for fellowship and prayer, a community event featuring Mayan ball, as well as construction on the Impacto property. The people there were very joyful and friendly despite poverty. Our team led devotions, shared testimonies, completed crafts, played games, and loved on and received abundant love in return. The last three days, we went ziplining, did a tour of the city of Antigua, and ate at some really great restaurants. We got back to Roanoke late Monday night, exhausted, yet fulfilled from 10 days of beautiful service for the Lord. It was an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend you step out of your comfort zone to experience mission work for yourself! Thank you to all who supported us financially and through prayer. Your prayers were coveted!
