I have the desire to spread the love of God, and I want to make relationships with people whom I know nothing about, and who have lived and experienced a totally different lifestyle. I want to learn from them and understand better about living in a different country. I want to also experience the Holy Spirit moving in these people’s lives who have never heard about him.

I felt like it would be a good way to share everything I learned as a student at SMLCA and like it would be a good way to grow in my faith and see other parts of the world and how they still have faith even in a hard situation.

Helping others has always been a priority of mine and having the chance to do that while spreading the gospel is an amazing privilege. While on this mission trip I hope that the adults and children we work with learn about God and feel led to teach others.

I felt called to go on the mission trip to Guatemala because I want serve others in a meaningful way. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of experiencing a different culture while sharing God’s love through action. On this trip, I hope to not only help meet the needs of the community but also learn from their faith, joy, and way of life. I want to see how God is moving in Guatemala, build relationships with people there, and come back with a new perspective on gratitude, service, and what it means to truly live with purpose.

What prompted me to go to Guatemala was seeing how much it impacted me along with everyone else that went last year. I feel like I could be even more involved this year because I have the experience of knowing what everything is like. So what I would like to accomplish is spreading Gods word even more this year through more involvement with everyone at happy tummies.

I’ve gone twice before; I loved it the first time and the second time even more. I enjoy being in a Spanish-speaking country and being able to use my conversational Spanish skills to connect and minister to the people there.

Guatemala has always sounded fun and I have been wanting to go. It sounded amazing to give to the less fortunate there and spread the gospel. Giving the elderly something fun to do and give them company sounds so amazing. Playing with the kids and giving them memories that will last forever also sounds so fun. But most importantly we get to spread the word to all of them in hopes they turn to God.

I'm looking forward to going to Guatemala because I get to spread the word of God with people that don't get to hear it every day like us. I also love kids and it's one of my passions to talk about God to kids!

I thought it would be a good opportunity to get closer to God and get a better perspective on what I have here.

I want to go to Guatemala so I can expand my worldview, I hope to grow closer to God and help others with their walk with God. I look forward to serving other people in any way they need.

I decided to go to Guatemala this year to share the gospel and to get a better understanding of other cultures. I want to show the love and compassion of Jesus to other so that they come to know him.

I wanted to go to Guatemala to help those less fortunate than me. I look at my life and see how much God has blessed me and my loved ones. It’s only fair I share a little blessing with others.

I saw people who went on previous trips come back different in a good way, and I feel like I could be the same. I believe this will be a very different experience and a good chance for me to help spread the word of God.

I've always been intrigued with mission and field work! And with the opportunity to go to Guatemala with fellow classmates on a mission trip, and going to a place with a different culture than our own, I was ecstatic to fill out the application. This will be my first international trip; I hope to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ and plant seeds.

I have never been on a missions trip before and wanted to try it. I want to experience a foreign country, use my Spanish skills, and have fun while serving in another context.
