Preschool

In a culture where the battle for our young children’s minds is waged early, SMLCA seeks to provide a fun, inquisitive, and engaging environment of preparatory learning. Through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic thematic activities, our Pre-K 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s focus on early learning skills such as following directions, staying on-task, good listening, and problem-solving. Experienced in childhood developmental learning, our teachers facilitate alphabetical, numerical, and spatial awareness, in addition to providing our preschoolers’ opportunities to engage in Physical Education, Music, Art, and Drama. Most importantly, our Preschool program weaves foundational Biblical Truths throughout its entire curriculum.

The capstone and heartbeat of SMLCA’s Academic program are training students with excellence through a Biblical lens. The Elementary years are the foundational training ground for producing confident, innovative, life-long learners eager to serve God’s Kingdom. Utilizing the current and comprehensive BJU Press Curriculum, in addition to the proven and nationally recognized writing program “Institute for Excellence in Writing” (IEW), our Worldview trained staff not only filters all subject areas through Biblical Truths but facilitates integration across subject areas as well. Recognizing the criticality of individualized learning, SMLCA utilizes a variety of best practices, learning modalities, and assessments to meet the needs of each student.
Jr High

Moving into the “Logic stage” of developmental learning, Junior High students are ready to engage in more challenging subject matter that demands abstract thought. Utilizing all of the concrete, factual information that they have been equipped with throughout the earlier years, students inquire as to the “Why”, working out the meaning and applying “logic” to all academic questions. Literary, Mathematical, and Scientific analysis, in-depth examination of Historical decisions and documents, project and inquiry-based learning, and Scriptural Hermeneutics all prepare our Junior High students for the next level of intellectual, educational, and spiritual maturation.
High School

Submersed in curriculum and learning opportunities that encourage higher-order thinking, SMLCA’s 9th-12th graders are well on their way to becoming Faith Defenders and Cultural Change Agents. Resisting the postmodern Secular/Sacred divide lens, our students leave viewing every aspect of life, family, and career choices through a Biblical Worldview lens. While touring our classrooms you will observe rhetorical conversations and constructive debate on key cultural and historical issues, collaborative and project-based learning, facilitation of value-added, ethical research, proper MLA & APA citation practices, and Biblical education and leadership training. Students have a wide array of educational course interests to choose from, including Vocational, STEAM, Creative Arts, and 4-year institution Dual-Enrollment offerings. Culminating with a Senior Thesis Project, and required service hours, SMLCA students enter the next season of life as thoughtful, confident, life-long learners, with the propensity to lead well and Biblically in their homes, communities, and careers.
